Laurel Canyon is featured in two recent documentary films, one on the musicians and the scene, the other about David Crosby (a Cameron Crowe film).
Here’s my third in the series of tribute clocks (each with different records), with Joni Mitchell’s iconic Blue album (with the song “California.” showing). Also: “Helplessly Hoping” is the first 45 rpm single (the B-side of Marrakesh Express) from Crosby, Stills & Nash, who met at Mama Cass’s place in the canyon, but first sang together at Joni’s place nearby. Mamas and the Papas’ “I Saw her Again” single is included.

BTW: Crosby and Stills have different recollections where CSN met and sang first. Per the film, Crosby insists it was at Joni’s.

Adjacent to the canyon store, Jim Morrison rented a place (Door’s “Wishful Sinful”). Meanwhile, Carole King also lived in the canyon (see cover photos of her Tapestry and Music albums). Appropriate to the region, I’ve included the “I Feel the Earth Move” single.

The clock features tiered accent slices cut from black and orange 45rpm records (see close-ups). These are original issue records.
